This page will show some of the images that were taken from the different flights over the Eau Claire Country Club. Some of the images will be in standard RGB imagery, while others will be processed to show false infrared and Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). With the FIR images, the brighter yellow areas are healthiest with the lighter to gray colors having distress. The NDVI images will show a similar picture, but these will be showing the reflectance of the vegetation. The more reflectance will be shown in bright green, these areas will be the healthiest.
Fig. 1 this is the RGB image over holes 2, 3, and 14.

Fig. 2 this is the FIR image over the same holes. I chose the yellow color scheme because it showed the distressed areas better than a red hue. The darker yellow areas are the healthiest around the greens and approach.
Fig. 3 this is the NDVI image of the same holes again. The most reflectance areas are the dark green areas. These areas are the healthiest. The orange/ reddish areas are mainly cart paths.
Fig. 4 this is the RGB image of Hole 5. Just by looking at this image you can see the areas the carts drive on the most. These areas will be the most distressed.
Fig. 5 this is the FIR image of hole 5. When enlarging this image, one can see the areas that the carts drove on the most and the areas of distress. Notice the area by the green and approach. These areas are the darkest yellow hue and are the healthiest as carts are not allowed to dive on these areas.
Fig. 6 this is the NDVI image of hole 5. Once again the darker the green, the healthier the area is. The red and orange areas are either cart paths again or water.
Fig. 7 this is the RGB image of hole 6, our final flight. There is only a cart path for the carts to drive on for this hole, so the areas that are distressed are either from not enough water or not enough fertilizer.
Fig. 8 shows the FIR image for hole 6. Since this is a par three hole, on the tee box, one can see all the divots missing. There is also a lot of gray area on the back side of the green, showing a very distressed area.
Fig. 9 shows the NDVI image for hole 6. Overall the hole looks relatively healthy from the tee box to the green. The distressed areas are from the divots or around the green. The green is elevated roughly 5 meters compared to the cart path. This leads to water and run off problems.
